Kernel 2.4 hotfixes build report. Not all kernels are booted on the target machines, but as often as possible they will be built. Some of the kernels are built with "allmodconfig", which means that all modules which are compatible with the system will be built. But I don't test with those kernels, so I recompile with a machine-specific config and test the resulting kernel. When I indicate "builds ok", it means that the kernel builds with the specified config without any error, but possibly warnings, and that I have not tried it. When I indicate "works ok", it means that I booted the system on this kernel and did not notice anything special. Enjoy, Willy ------------+-------------+--------+--------+--------------+----------- kernel | machine | arch | gcc | config | status ------------+-------------+--------+--------+--------------+----------- 2.4.29-hf2 | compaq ds10 | alpha | 3.3.4 | machine-spec | builds ok | file server | ev6 | | | ------------+-------------+--------+--------+--------------+----------- 2.4.29-hf2 | ultrasparc |sparc64 | 3.3.4 | allmodconfig*| builds ok* | sun ultra60 | smp | | machine-spec | ------------+-------------+--------+--------+--------------+----------- 2.4.29-hf2 | dual athlon | i386 | 2.95.3 | allmodconfig | builds ok | workstation | k7-smp | | machine-spec | works ok ------------+-------------+--------+--------+--------------+----------- 2.4.29-hf1 | dual-athlon | i386 | 2.95.3 | allmodconfig | builds ok | workstation | k7-smp | | machine-spec | works ok ------------+-------------+--------+--------+--------------+----------- 2.4.29-hf1 | pentium-m | i386 | 3.3.5 | machine-spec | works ok | notebook | p3 | | | ------------+-------------+--------+--------+--------------+----------- 2.4.29-hf1 | ultrasparc |sparc64 | 3.3.4 | allmodconfig | builds ok | sun ultra60 | smp | | machine-spec | works ok ------------+-------------+--------+--------+--------------+----------- * : on sparc/sparc64, lots of modules don't build at all, such as sound because of missing defines in dmabuf.c, and some WAN, FB & I2C drivers.
